On September 16, XCMG held the groundbreaking ceremony for its Indonesia Remanufacturing Center in Balikpapan. As XCMG's first overseas base for major overhaul and remanufacturing of mining equipment parts, the project launches an aftermarket service hub spanning the full equipment lifecycle — a key step in XCMG's localization strategy in Indonesia.

XCMG has always upheld "globalization" as its principal corporate strategy. Yang Dongsheng, Chairman and Party Secretary of XCMG Group and XCMG Machinery, once noted: "Globalization is localization." Today, this philosophy is steadily translating into practice in Indonesia.

Representatives of the Indonesian government, core mining customers, industrial partners and local media jointly witnessed the ceremony, alongside Ren Daming, General Manager of XCMG's Mining Machinery Division. During the event, XCMG signed strategic cooperation agreements with multiple customers and partners, cementing the foundation for industrial synergy.

As the pioneer of XCMG's full value chain going global — R&D, production, supply, sales, service and finance — the Indonesia region has been cultivated for over three decades. This year alone, several milestones have landed: XCMG's first overseas new-energy manufacturing base went into operation; the Indonesia R&D Center was inaugurated to adapt products to hot, humid and complex working conditions; and a finance company officially debuted with customized solutions.

R&D, manufacturing and finance primarily support the pre-market phase, while remanufacturing extends the chain across the full operating lifecycle. Indonesia thus becomes the first market where XCMG can serve the complete value cycle of its equipment, making it a vital pivot in XCMG's global system and Southeast Asia expansion.

The center integrates major overhaul of core parts, regional parts warehousing, local talent development and used equipment refurbishment, connecting used-parts collection, repair and remanufacturing, parts supply and on-site service into a full-cycle aftermarket system.

Closely aligned with local needs, the center adopts XCMG's globally unified remanufacturing standards and lean quality system. Once operational, major maintenance can be completed locally, cutting downtime, reducing costs and improving equipment availability — advancing XCMG's transformation into a "full-lifecycle solution service provider."

"A locally based remanufacturing center means faster overhaul and parts response and more controllable downtime losses. We are more confident than ever in deepening our cooperation," said a representative of a core Indonesian mining customer.

From manufacturing localization to technology transfer, from financial empowerment to service extension, XCMG follows the logic of "rooting in Indonesia, serving Indonesia" — exporting technology and products while building local industrial capability, creating jobs and upgrading the supply chain.
