On October 10, XCMG and Sinopec Heavy Lifting & Transportation Co., Ltd. successfully signed a contract for the world’s first 14,000-ton circular rail crane. Following the XGC88000 crawler crane, this marks another milestone collaboration between the two companies, signifying China’s advancement to a new height in achieving core technology autonomy and control in the field of super-large lifting equipment.
At the signing ceremony, Yang Dongsheng, Chairman of XCMG , stated that XCMG and Sinopec have jointly built a new paradigm of "research & development - manufacturing - application" for collaborative development, setting an industry benchmark for independent innovation and engineering transformation of major technical equipment. This partnership serves as a model of strong industrial chain collaboration and innovative synergy.
Since the launch of joint research and development in 2015, the product has successfully overcome two major core technology barriers:
lElectric Direct Drive Technology: This was globally pioneered, with extensive testing and optimization resulting in over 30% energy savings and a 25% increase in operational efficiency.
lMulti-Condition Adaptation Structure: With an innovative design that balances the need for both large and small working radii, it achieves "one machine with multiple functions," enabling flexible adaptation to complex scenarios such as chemical engineering and nuclear power.
Looking ahead, the deployment of the 14,000-ton circular rail crane will significantly shorten construction cycles for large-scale projects, helping to accelerate early project commissioning and enhance efficiency.
