XCMG has outlined three key pathways to accelerate the sustainable transformation of the global mining industry — continuous technological innovation, end-to-end digital transformation and deeper localization — at the Boao Forum for Asia Perth Conference 2026.

Held on July 27 under the theme “The Next Phase of Green Industry Cooperation,” the conference was co-hosted by the Boao Forum for Asia and Fortescue, bringing together around 200 representatives from government, industry, technology, finance and research institutions to explore opportunities for global green development.
During the roundtable session “Enablers of Green Industry Growth – Innovation, AI and Finance Cooperation,” Yang Dongsheng, Chairman of XCMG Group and XCMG Machinery, shared XCMG’s insights into the future of green and intelligent mining.
Yang highlighted that innovation, artificial intelligence and digital technologies are reshaping the manufacturing and mining industries, while the key challenge is transforming these technologies into practical solutions that drive sustainable growth.

“Achieving green transformation requires the coordinated advancement of long-term R&D, end-to-end digital transformation and deeper localization,” Yang said.
As a global construction machinery manufacturer rooted in the real economy, XCMG continues to accelerate the integration of green and digital technologies. Through a comprehensive portfolio of new energy mining and construction equipment, as well as integrated smart and low-carbon mining solutions, XCMG is providing global customers with advanced equipment, technologies and digital support to facilitate the energy transition.
Yang also emphasized the important role of artificial intelligence in enabling smarter equipment, autonomous operations and data-driven optimization. By applying AI and digital technologies, mining companies can improve operational efficiency, optimize resource utilization and reduce energy consumption and emissions.

Following the conference, international delegates visited Fortescue’s mining operations in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. XCMG has secured China’s largest export order for green mining machinery with Fortescue, with electric equipment to be progressively deployed at Fortescue’s Pilbara operations to support its goal of achieving zero-emissions operations by 2030.
For more than two decades, XCMG has been developing its presence in Australia through a localized approach that combines technological innovation with market expertise. As electrification, automation and intelligent technologies continue to transform the mining industry, XCMG is accelerating the development of new energy equipment, digital solutions and smart mining applications.
Through continuous innovation, green product development and sustainable manufacturing practices, XCMG is advancing low-carbon transformation across its value chain and contributing to the global transition toward a greener and more sustainable future.
